The United States Army is celebrating the founding of our nation and its 250th birthday! We invite you to join us in the rich history and the joyous celebration. More than a year before the Declaration of Independence, the Second Continental Congress pass a resolution and created the National Army, thus on June 14, 1775, the U.S. Army was born.

The army has had an essential role in both the founding and the development of the United States as an independent nation. Winning the Revolutionary War set America on a path toward greatness. The army goes well beyond the battles, wars, conflicts, and forts; the army has influenced and been influenced by American life, culture, fashion, food, technology, business, and religion. Cementing the Army as a foundation to America’s creation and wonderful existence.

On June 14th, 2025, Houston will host the 250th Army birthday celebration. This event represents a tremendous opportunity to showcase, highlight, and celebrate the army in all its forms: active duty, national guard, reserves, veterans, civilians, families, supporters, the state of Texas, and the Houston community. We are expecting to have patriotic performances and tributes, exquisite dining, commemorative items, and special guests of celebrities and U.S. Army officials.
